15.Oct.2025 - Waist 111.5cm/43.9 Inches

I'm entering my 40s and I realised I've never had abs. I've been very fat, very thin, muscular and unmuscular, but never lean.

I've decided I want to have sweet visible abs at least once in my life. Even if they're just sweet middle aged abs.

I'm fat right now, so this may take a while.

The last time I got a physical checkup was a couple of months ago, but I would be approximately 82kg right now. Not good. My landlord often tells me I'm fat.

I did drink at least 2L of water today at least. And one can of Pepsi Max. One small can of Redbull.


20.Oct.2025 - Waist 110cm/43.3 Inches

Got through the remainder of my breads, fatty meats, soft drinks and other stuff like that. Still have some spaghetti I'll hold on to for an emergency.

Been drinking about 2L of water a day. Feel like I should drink more perhaps.

Breakfast has been protein shakes. Didn't mean to use them as a meal replacement, it just sort of happened like that.

Went for a run/walk last night. Standard Day 1 Couch to 5k type app routine. Will go again tonight.


21.Oct.2025 - Waist 110cm/43.3 Inches

I wasn't planning on doing daily updates, but I realised it's 31 days until my birthday, so as far as healthy productive habits this is when I really amp up.

Just finished my run for the day. I only managed to complete half my run yesterday before the pain in my shins became unbearable. This was embarassing.

I used to have shin splints when I was a kid. I was probably as out of shape as I am now, except now I'm older so I don't recover as easily.

I took a 5 minute break halfway through my run today to let my shins settle. I need to wear proper running shoes instead of my beat up thin skate shoes.

I'm glad I got through it today. I will keep going and just rest halfway through when I need it. I'll try a neurofen tablet before too to minimise inflamation.

I will start doing the following daily:

Finally, I will also start writing 2581 words a day minimum every day for 31 days like last year.

I'm aware this last part isn't getting abs related. But it's probably going to be relevant to the next month at least.


22.Oct.2025 - Waist 110cm/43.3 Inches

Adding the 10000 steps minimum in cumulatively with my daily run. 4263 steps.

Finished today's run. Still took a short break in the middle. Found slightly better shoes that helped, but they weren't running shoes so I'll keep looking.

Found challenge apps for the exercises I listed in the last entry.


23.Oct.2025 - Waist 109.5cm/43.1 Inches

Completed my run today without taking a break. I took smaller strides so my step count is a little higher, but the distance was abot the same. 4596 steps.

Shins still hurt a bit when running. Found a better shoe but can't find its partner yet so I used the same ones as yesterday.

Just mostly happy I finished the run without taking a short break in the middle.

Treated today a little bit of a cheat day, so i had a standard Mad Mex burrito with a can of Pepsi Max. I can probably manage this once a week at most.

I think if I want to have visible abs at some point, aside from diet and exercise I need to be more actively mindful about my posture.
